Kick Sixers Win First Championship

Auburn Alumni Club Scream War Eagle

After too many rainouts to count, we finally reach the last leg of the playoffs at Hadley Park. After Kick Sixers and Sick Bunts both advanced from the quarterfinals, it was a top 4 seed showdown in the semis.

In the 2 v 3 game, it took extra innings to decide a winner. After Buc-ee's Beavers tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the 7th, Kick Sixers used 3 runs in the top of the 8th inning to pull away in this back-and-forth affair.

On the other side of the bracket, a late rally fell just short for Sick Bunts, who lost 7-6 against top-seeded Kickelob Ultra. In the Championship game, Kick Sixers put up 6 runs in the top of the 1st and Kickelob Ultra would never get closer than that. Kick Sixers rode that hot start to avenge their regular season drubbing and hand Kickelob Ultra their first loss of the season 11-4.

In their ninth season of kickball, the Auburn Alumni Club captures their first championship and scream War Eagle to end the Spring Season.
